It\u00b4s been a long time since a friend was telling me about a place we\u00a0have to go “near the Market of\u00a0Sant Antoni, where some Argentines make delicious pies<\/strong>.” We were recently walking in the area, and seeing\u00a0the counter full of pies we\u00a0had no doubt: It is “the Argentinian place that makes\u00a0good pies!”. We entered in Rekons<\/strong> to have\u00a0dinner.<\/p>\n

For the veterans of Barcelona, \u200b\u200bRekons<\/strong> is the name by which is known now the old Granja\u00a0Canig\u00f3<\/strong>. The current owners have not even changed the name of the fa\u00e7ade or awning (I took no pictures, it was late afternoon \/ evening and they weren\u00b4t of good quality).<\/p>\n

In fact, the place conserves that retro feel and taste of the old farm, which gives it a special charm and lots of character.<\/p>\n

We sat at a table to have\u00a0dinner and we were surprised from\u00a0the amount of people coming in to buy pies to takeaway<\/strong> for dinner. Incredible traffic! The contents of the pie trays were going down, being filled\u00a0by\u00a0trays full of pies,\u00a0one after another.<\/p>\n

PIES OF VARIOUS FLAVOURS<\/strong><\/p>\n

For dinner, we focused on the main course: Argentinian pies, delicious and well priced\u00a0<\/strong>(2 euros each).<\/p>\n

For the girls, we ordered some pies with ham and cheese, and some with\u00a0zucchini, to play it safe.<\/p>\n

The adults, we risked with different flavors, and we were right: meat and spicy eggplant pie. Spinach pie. Asparagus pie with cheese. And we also\u00a0wanted\u00a0to try the meat pie with\u00a0pumpkin and brown sugar.<\/p>\n

At the other tables they were ordering \u00a0potatoes with melted cheese and some very original sandwiches which looked delicious!
\nTERRACE WITH\u00a0AMBIENT<\/strong>
\nRekons is a place for having lunch, dinner, takeaway, or to come during the\u00a0weekend to have the vermouth and enjoy the sun on the terrace with the family. Good discovery!<\/p>\n
