The Motorcycle Museum<\/strong> is one of the most original and less\u00a0known museums in Barcelona<\/strong>. Located at 2 minutes walk from the Pla\u00e7a de la Catedral, is an ideal visit for children who are passionate about the motor\u00a0and the two wheels.<\/p>\n

WHAT YOU CAN\u00a0SEE IN THE MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM<\/strong>
\nIn this museum you will see more than 300 motorcycles<\/strong> of brands as mythical as Montesa, Bultaco, Ossa, Derbi, Squirrel, Gas Gas, Reddis, Moto Guzzi … etc.<\/p>\n

The exhibition begins with some\u00a0spectacular pioneer motorcycles of our country. Watch this Montesa A45 of 98 cc, manufactured in 1945.<\/p>\n

The motorcycle\u00a0that \u00a0younger kids will love for sure is this lovely child bike with sidecar, manufactured in 1950 in Barcelona by JYMB.<\/p>\n

Or this Montesa, manufactured in 1976 by \u200b\u200bPere Pi for his son\u00a0Ot Pi<\/a>, who by this time was\u00a0\u00a06 years old and over the years became 12 times world champion in biketrial.<\/p>\n

THE FACTORIES OF\u00a0MOTORCYCLES OF CATALONIA: MONTESA, DERBI, OSSA, RIEJU, BULTACO.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Catalonia, from 1905 to 2010, you could count\u00a0over 150 motorcycle factories, some of which have achieved an international reputation such as Montesa, Derbi, Rieju or Ossa. At the Museum you can see a selection of the most representative models of the history of the Catalan motorcycle.<\/p>\n

And some spectacular models where you can see the motorcycle\u00a0in its unrestored and restored version. What a difference!.<\/p>\n

IMPALA, THIS\u00a0LEGENDARY MOTORCYCLE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Impala was one of the most successful models of Montesa. Manufactured\u00a0\u200b\u200bfor the first time in 1962 by\u00a0Leopoldo Mila, is a robust, reliable, and with legendary sports skills motorcycle. There are still many impalas moving through\u00a0the streets of Barcelona. It is also legendary the annual “impalada” that the members of\u00a0motoclub impala<\/a>\u00a0are celebrating.\u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

TWO WHEELS SPORT<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the things that most has impacted us in our visit to the museum is the amount of competitions that you can practice in “two wheels”: we have seen football-motorcycles,\u00a0ice motorcycles, grass motorcycles, cycling after motorcycle, Dirt-track ,<\/span><\/p>\n

as well as motorcycles for traditional competitions in racing circuits, such as the famous Bultaco “cazarecords” of 1960.<\/p>\n

PROTOTYPES AREA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The museum is changing the temporary exhibitions area. On our visit we could see\u00a0an original exhibition of two wheels prototypes. Stands out, for example, this amazing motorcycle-wheel of Michelin with\u00a02.3 meters of\u00a0diameter, manufactured\u00a0to highlight the importance of driving with safe tires.\u00a0\"Museo_moto_barcelona_colours\"<\/a><\/p>\n

URBAN\u00a0MOTORCYCLES<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the museum you can see original two-seat models which were unsuccessful, such as the Montesa Fura (1958), or the Centaur Scooter (1967).<\/p>\n
