The other day I read a post on a blog, which I do not remember the name, about the Castaween<\/strong> and I found it very funny. It is approaching the time of the Casta\u00f1ada<\/strong> and the\u00a0Halloween<\/strong> and it seems that the latter is quitting the importance\u00a0from the Catalan traditional festivity\u00a0of the Casta\u00f1ada\u00a0… It may\u00a0be for the festive air, because the commercial marketing has achieved that\u00a0at each corner, supermarket or neighborhood everything is all decorated with pumpkins …<\/p>\n

I confess I am a\u00a0Casta\u00f1ada lover and since I have children, more now than before, there is no year that we are not dancing during one month “quan es temps de menjar castanyes…”\u00a0\u00a0(watch video here), they love it\u00a0and to me watching them “picar de peus” too. The chestnuts seem a figure in extinction we should care, and I know, the weather in October is not as fancy to take many chestnuts, but never miss my appointment mandatory in buying a few chestnuts and sweet potatoes hummm … … and to add insult to tradition, is an ideal panellet … to do with children, easy, fun and good plan, real good …<\/p>\n

The chestnut vendors<\/strong>\u00a0seem a figure in danger of\u00a0extinction that we should take care<\/strong>, and I know, the weather in October is not that tempting \u00a0to make you want to eat\u00a0many chestnuts, but I never miss my mandatory \u00a0appointment mandatory for\u00a0a few chestnuts<\/strong> and sweet potatoes<\/strong> hummm … … and to complete the tradition, panellets<\/strong> … is an ideal plan to make them with the help of your children, easy, fun and\u00a0delicious, really delicious…<\/span><\/p>\n

I must admit however that I “have sinned” and some times I have\u00a0celebrated Halloween<\/strong>. It is not that I like the\u00a0festivity\u00a0itself but the pumpkin is “pleasant” and it’s fun emptying it and converting it in lantern. Kids love it. There was even a year that my mother wanted\u00a0to celebrate it \u00a0reslunting in customizing everything. Look at the photos…<\/p>\n

But as I said … we are fans of the Casta\u00f1ada<\/strong> and therefore we are going to pay\u00a0a tribute to it by doing a different post in which we give you a real good recipe of panellets. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
