From 4 to 7 June 2026,<\/strong> you will be able to see this beautiful tradition in different historical buildings of the city. It&#8217;s a good time to take advantage of the open doors of many of them and special activities. This year, in addition, in-person visits are back, and you will be able to enjoy new activities in different parts of the city.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROGRAM:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/culturapopular\/ca\/festes-i-tradicions\/festivitat-de-corpus-christi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/culturapopular\/es\/fiestas-y-tradiciones\/festividad-de-corpus-christi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Corpus Barcelona 2026<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>L&#8217;OU COM BALLA 2026 IN BARCELONA<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>From the 4th to June 7th, Corpus Christi is celebrated in Barcelona<\/strong> with the commemoration of its 700th anniversary. This year&#8217;s program features around fifty activities in 38 spaces spread across all districts of Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Furthermore, for the first time, there will be flower carpets at Barcelona City Hall, as well as<a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/en\/visit-the-terraces-of-santa-maria-del-mar\/\"> at the basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, among others.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Don&#8217;t miss the flower carpets, the open doors, and all the activities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PROGRAM:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/culturapopular\/ca\/festes-i-tradicions\/festivitat-de-corpus-christi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/culturapopular\/es\/fiestas-y-tradiciones\/festividad-de-corpus-christi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Corpus Barcelona 2026<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54206 size-thumbnail-name-3\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/01db80ae-5116-4625-9172-f87ca09a2b47-2-400x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You will be able to see around 20 &#8220;ous com balla&#8221; distributed in different spaces of the city, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/visitar-las-terrazas-de-la-catedral-de-barcelona\/\">Barcelona Cathedral<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/lou-com-balla-en-lateneu-barcelones\/\">L&#8217;Ateneu<\/a>, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/el-monasterio-de-pedralbes-en-familia\/\">Pedralbes Monastery<\/a>. There will also be presentations, workshops, dances, exhibitions, and bell ringing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>PROGRAM:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/culturapopular\/ca\/festes-i-tradicions\/festivitat-de-corpus-christi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/culturapopular\/es\/fiestas-y-tradiciones\/festividad-de-corpus-christi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Corpus Barcelona 2026<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>L&#8217;OU COM BALLA TRADITION<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is not very clear where this beautiful tradition comes from. It is believed to be from the 15th century, but there is no exact date. It is also not very clear why it became a tradition, whether it is a Christian symbolism (the egg represents rebirth) or if it was a coincidence that turned into a tradition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, the spectacle is worth seeing.<strong> L&#8217;Ou com balla consists of placing an empty egg (with a point of melted wax that provides counterweight) on a fountain to make it dance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img_23101.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1279\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img_23101.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2310\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>PROGRAM:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/culturapopular\/ca\/festes-i-tradicions\/festivitat-de-corpus-christi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/culturapopular\/es\/fiestas-y-tradiciones\/festividad-de-corpus-christi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Corpus Barcelona 2026<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It can be seen in different parts of the city. Every year, we go to a different place to get to know them all. Here are some of our visits:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>THE CATHEDRAL AND L&#8217;OU COM BALLA<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Going to the Cathedral is always fun, even with children, as there are 13 geese in honor of its patron saint, Santa Eulalia, who died at the age of 13. It is truly beautiful. <strong>On these days, the fountains are decorated with flowers and fruits. The &#8220;Font de Sant Jordi&#8221; in the cloister was decorated with cherries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-27069\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/lou-com-balla-barcelona-colours-800x565.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"494\" srcset=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/lou-com-balla-barcelona-colours.jpg 800w, https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/lou-com-balla-barcelona-colours-300x212.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Leaving the Cathedral, we went to the house of l&#8217;Ard\u00edaca (right next door, at Santa Ll\u00facia Street, No. 1).
