We like to hang out there to enjoy the latest exhibition or meet friends in the cafeteria and have a drink.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/bcncolours_caixaforum41.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/bcncolours_caixaforum41.jpg\" alt=\"bcncolours_caixaforum4\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For those of you who do not know <a href=\"http:\/\/obrasocial.lacaixa.es\/laCaixaFoundation\/culture_en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">CaixaForum<\/span><\/a>, I summarize why we love it so much in 8 reasons:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> Reason nr# 1: well located.<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is located near Plaza Espa\u00f1a (Metro Plaza Espanya), You can get there by bicing or Tourist Bus. Car parking is also available.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/bcncolours_caixaforum61.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/bcncolours_caixaforum61.jpg\" alt=\"bcncolours_caixaforum6\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> Reason nr# 2: Modernist and modern Architecture<\/strong><br \/>\nThe current building was designed by architect Josep Puig Cadafalch, one of the three most representative Catalan architects of modernism, contemporary to Dom\u00e8nech i Muntaner and Antoni Gaud\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Josep Puig and Cadalfalch works are as famous as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barcelonaturisme.com\/Casa-Amatller\/_3Ngb8YjSpL3U56ScBHOWcxpDev_Vr2xenqBQMToyI-NTg79GzzO7l2uMMtedChqw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Casa Amatller<\/span> <\/a>or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barcelonaturisme.com\/Castellano\/_3Ngb8YjSpL3IOAs7oO2GTUo2MLOwtX5b2FPsc9IkdtPSSyH_EmGlGHSiB8rZxFJxrDboFOcQ4p4Csih5WvPOSwNmzd0GGzcwVQiRvgNdgyw_1ZFPG7PQnQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Casa de les Punxes,<\/a> both in Barcelona city and worth visiting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/bcncolours_caixaforum18.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/bcncolours_caixaforum18.jpg\" alt=\"bcncolours_caixaforum1\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Originally Casarramona housed a textile factory. The building opened in 1913 and was revolutionary for its time. It was awarded the first prize in the annual artistic buildings of the City of Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/aterraza2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/aterraza2.jpg\" alt=\"aterraza2\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But the factory permanently abandoned its industrial activity in 1919, and during a long period the place remained closed. &#8220;La Caixa&#8221; acquired the building and in 2002 opened CaixaForum.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For the restoration of the building worked internationally renowned architects Arata Isozaki (His are the famous &#8220;twin trees&#8221;), Francisco Javier Asarta, Roberto Luna and Robert Brufau.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/aarbolesgemelos.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/aarbolesgemelos.jpg\" alt=\"Aarbolesgemelos\" width=\"640\" height=\"401\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> Reason nr# 3: 100% Kids Friendly<\/strong><br \/>\nCaixaForum is a place where children are always welcome.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/bcncolours_caixaforum81.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/bcncolours_caixaforum81-e1367144483714.jpg\" alt=\"bcncolours_caixaforum8\" width=\"640\" height=\"960\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the entrance, if you leave your passport, they provide you free puzzles for children to play around.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/bcncolours_caixaforum111.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/bcncolours_caixaforum111.jpg\" alt=\"bcncolours_caixaforum11\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CaixaForum Kids perform activities, workshops and concerts for the whole family at reasonable prices .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/bcncolours_caixaforum121.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/bcncolours_caixaforum121.jpg\" alt=\"bcncolours_caixaforum12\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> Reason nr# 4: The terrace<\/strong><br \/>\nMany people do not know that you can access the terrace (the cover of the old factory) from entering the elevator located on the left.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/aterraza4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/aterraza4.jpg\" alt=\"aterraza4\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At first my little girls could enter, now only people over 16 years are allowed to pass. So if you go 2 or more adults, please take turns for one to stay with the children and another out to have a look. Do not forget the camera!. From the terrace there are fantastic views to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mnac.cat\/index.jsp?lan=003\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MNAC.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/aterraza1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/barcelonacolours.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/aterraza1.jpg\" alt=\"aterraza1\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> Reason nr# 5: The cafeteria<\/strong><br \/>\nThe caixaforum caf\u00e9 is a space that invites you to come and have a snack or drink.
