On Saturday we were invited to the opening of the exhibition ‘Darwin, the journey of a naturalist’ and we went there with lot of enthusiasm and many children. Yes, many children because we took two of our nephews. So we explain you the visit to the museum with super super numerous family!
The inauguration was special because they had organized a theatrical performance for children that they were telling them the Darwins trip in boat and tricks to learn how to orient themselves in the sea, where was the North, how to make a compass with a magnet, a needle, a cork stopper, and water, and many other things. It’s great to see how the children concentrate when someone tells them a story, including Jorge.
After the show we went to see the exhibition. Known for his theory of evolution, Darwin was a great observer of nature. We could see animals, skeletons, the room of Darwin during his journey by boat, etc
And as you can see, there were posters of ‘touch’. It was funny because with four running kids through the Museum I was going a bit ‘stressed’: ‘Paul, be careful, dont touch’, ‘Charlotte, don’t touch this’… so a lady comes to me and says, ‘ no, no, let them touch, here ´they can do so ,. So kids, let’s play!!
We continue our route and we went to see the Royal Galley of Don Juan de Austria, well, its a copy. The ship is enormous and the children enjoyed inspecting every corner. Also the elders we could see the newly restored dockyards. The building is spectacular.
When we finished the tour we went to the terrace of the museum. There was a bar where you could eat and picnic quietly and the kids were having a great time because there was a submarine, a mini swallow and a little lake with a turtle and fishes.
The museum organizes many family activities, you can ask here, and prices and discounts and open door days here

Well, i confess it, taking advantage of being next to Colon we went to check if the Barcas shirt was looking nice on him.
