THE WEATHER
If you ask people why they have visited Majorca before, many will tell you it’s because of the beautiful weather. Year-round, the sun blesses Majorca with hot days, perfect for exploring and enjoying the sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. August and September are often its hottest months but you can visit any time of the year and you will have a relaxing break. Make sure you visit Alcudia when visiting as the beaches there are just wonderful! You’ll find plenty of water sports that you can take part in. If it rains at any point whilst you are away, the Palma Aquarium is a great day out.
THE FOOD
Whenever visiting a destination, it’s important you check the type of meals that they serve. Majorca in particular is known for its typical Mallorcan dishes which are simply delicious. You’ll find plenty of seafood meals as well as pork and vegetable dishes. Depending on where you are staying, we would recommend heading to Palma and eating at one of the restaurants. In Palma, you’ll find a number of award-winning restaurants that will give you a real culinary masterclass. If you are looking to stick to a budget, Palma has plenty of affordable restaurants which are also very good. Make sure you try their Coca de trampó on one of your days.
THE BEACHES
We mentioned it above but the beaches in Majorca are wonderful. If you visit Alcudia, you’ll enjoy sand-swept beaches as far as the eye can see. The water is so clear and very low near the shore, meaning children can happily enjoy it without feeling worried about the sea waves. As an adult visit one of the beach cafes and order yourself a cocktail whilst reading your book and enjoying the views. If you enjoy your watersports, there are plenty that take place on the beach. Get energetic and take on the inflatables or if you want an adrenaline rush, hire out some jet skis. Wakeboarding, kayaking and paddleboarding are also available if you fancy giving them a go.
