5 ICE SKATING RINKS IN BARCELONA
TIBIDABO ICE SKATING RINK: Tibidabo will open a new ice skating rink. You can celebrate Christmas by skating on the new Tibidabo ice rink, offering the best views of Barcelona! Plaça dels Somnis is the chosen space for its installation, and it will be operational whenever the park is open. Access to the rink is included in the park entry prices – which you can check here – but there is also the option to use it separately for 5 euros. It’s not a conventional ice rink; it has something special. The rink has a surface area of 200 square meters and is made of synthetic and sustainable material. Though not natural ice, it provides very similar sensations. Specifically, it’s made with polyethylene panels, a new and revolutionary product with zero energy consumption, as it doesn’t need water or electricity to maintain. PORT VELL ICE SKATING RINK IN BARCELONA: This year, the Christmas Fair at Port Vell in Barcelona brings a huge ice skating rink as a novelty for all to enjoy. A large sustainable ice rink of 400 m² will be installed, and visitors of all ages can enjoy it. Additionally, there will be a train and attractions for the little ones, along with the 65-meter-high Noria, a Christmas tradition at Port Vell. Days: December 5th to January 6th at Moll de la Fusta. L’ILLA DIAGONAL ICE SKATING RINK: A perfect plan for all ages. Days: From November 24th to January 7th. Opening hours: On weekends and holidays, it’s open from 11 am to 9 pm, and on weekdays from 5 pm to 9 pm (check special days on their website). Penguins are available for those who don’t know how to skate. Prices: Rink access and skate rental: 6€. Gloves: 2€ (not necessary if you bring your own gloves). Penguin assistance: 2€. Location: In the gardens of L’illa. Tickets available at the box office. No prior reservation required. WESTFIELD LA MAQUINISTA ICE SKATING RINK: Barcelona’s first sustainable ice rink. On Fridays, December 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th, there will be a show at 6:30 pm. To enter, you must be a member of the Westfield Club, book an appointment to avoid queues, and present a purchase receipt of the day amounting to 10€ or more at any establishment in the Center. “Access will be for one person per Westfield Club member and ticket.” Children under 16 can enter for free. Schedule: From Monday to Thursday, from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. On Saturdays, Sundays, December 8th, and from December 22nd to January 4th, from 11 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm. On December 24th and 31st, as well as on January 5th, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm. Closed on December 6th, 25th, 26th, and January 1st. ELS LLUMS DE SANT PAU ICE SKATING RINK: In honor of the lights of Sant Pau, discover a unique ice skating rink inside the Modernist Complex of Sant Pau, surrounded by modernist architecture, for an unforgettable ice skating experience. Day: November 21st to January 14th. Hours: 15 minutes after your access time starts, you have 45 minutes to access the ice rink. The 9:30 pm session gives you 30 minutes to access, with the latest access time at 10:15 pm. The price is a flat 5€ and can be purchased along with your tickets.
