If you walk through the Borne and you want to eat something simple but of good quality in a charming terrace then you have to try the restaurant Espai Mescladís.
We stumbled upon this place by chance one day when we were on route in Ciutat Vella. It is somehow hidden under some arches next to a covered passage, yet it is very close to the street Commerce.
The food is varied, you can have dishes from all around the world and all made with local and fair trade products. On weekdays they have a very affordable menu from € 7,60.- that worth trying.
The place is comfortable and spacious so there is no problem to go with a stroller. We could leave our bikes close to our table.
The restaurant is decorated with different pieces of furniture that gives a cheerful and colorful touch.
But the best of the place, and this is something I discovered when I got back home and checked its web, is that through this restaurant and other activities an important work of social and labor insertion is made using the kitchen as a tool to “cook opportunities”. We recommend that you enter on the website and find out everything they do.
And after eating you can always go to the park that there is next to it, for the kids to run for a while, it is a huge park where you can also see some urban gardens.
(The photos I took of the park are terrible so it´s best not to put them!)
